Ontario Human Rights Code

Policies effective since our 2014 season
Please read the attachment and we're all good to go!

As per this memo from the City of Kitchener:

As of January 1, 2014 all staff and volunteers are required by law, in accordance to section 7 of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, to be trained on the Ontario Human Rights Code, Duty to Accommodate.

http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/regs/english/elaws_regs_110191_e.htm

To help meet compliance, we are sharing the following resources with our volunteers and staff (umpires):

1.)    Link to the Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC), duty to accommodate videos.  These videos have been created by the OHRC.

2.) The attached “Ontario Human Rights Code, Duty to Accommodate” brochure created for City of Waterloo and City of Kitchener staff and volunteers - a copy of which was emailed to each participant when first enacted. (Compliance with the requirements of the act has been a part of the registration agreement since that time.)

Please take the time to read the attachment - and be in compliance. Thanks!
